How Does This Happen?

This annoying symptom occurs when the tissues in and around the throat are stretched and torn during whiplash. What Can I Do To Help Myself?

Cold compresses to the back and front of the neck can reduce swelling and help make swallowing easier. Apply ice but never directly to the skin. Always use a towel between the skin and the ice. Later, use hot moist heat. If it's alright with your doctor of chiropractic, gentle movements of the spine can relieve the achy stiffness that accompanies this condition.
