How Does This Happen?
What Can I Do To Help Myself? One of the easiest ways to help yourself with soreness over the jaw joint is to gently rub the muscles with your fingertips. Use circular movements. Massage upward toward the temple regions and all the way down to the angle of the jaw. This can be done with an ice cube to lessen the pain associated with jaw ache. It may be advisable to avoid hard foods like crusty bread, tough meats, tortilla style chips, chewing gum, raw vegetables like carrots, and anything that requires forceful chewing as this can aggravate the jaw joint. Avoid caffeine in the form of coffee, cola drinks, chocolate, and certain teas. Stimulants cause people to tighten, or set their jaw. It's Still Bothering Me Now What?
