 Soreness Or Tenderness

How Does This Happen?

Immediately after an accident many people feel fine. Weeks even months after a minor collision with little or no damage to the vehicle, symptoms like soreness and tenderness may be present especially in the morning. These are often the first symptoms of whiplash. Soreness and tenderness is due to the changes brought on by a natural healing process called "inflammation." during sleep, swelling takes place deep in the joints because there is little movement to push the extra fluids out of the joints. Whiplash sufferers can notice tenderness and soreness especially in the morning.

What Can I Do To Help Myself?

Gentle stretching can help move the extra fluid out of the spine. Standing under a hot shower, or using ice can also provide relief. Going the most natural way with your health is desirable. Avoid the common side effects of anti-inflammatory medications, by using ice. Ice has an anti-inflammatory effect with few side effects. Ice 5 – 20 minutes, three times per day

Please note ice should never be applied directly to the skin.

It's Still Bothering Me, Now What?

The body has a tremendous capacity to heal itself. Chiropractors work with the bodies inborn healing mechanisms to facilitate and maximize healing. Tenderness or soreness are symptoms that indicate something is wrong, don't ignore these warning signs or try to hide them with pain killers.
